TITLE: STUDY FOR THE WORLD (2000)
MEDIUM: Gouache on board
SIZE: 23.5 x 27.8 in. (59.7 x 70.6 cm.)
DESCRIPTION: A study for a work which eventually became Bruvel’s sculpture “The World”, this graphite and gouache original perfectly exemplifies all that is Bruvellian. She gently floats on a pullulating landscape dominated by only the wisps of clouds and the ball of personalities on which she lightly sits. Whether landing or taking off, her wings allow her access to the “world” of personalities which are diverse and yet, well-blended. This work appears in Bruvel’s book of portraiture “Timeless Travelers”. This one-of-a-kind original graphite and gouache on panel is being sold from the original owner who purchased it from me in 2001.
