Art Wynwood’s unique identity, blending cutting-edge street art with other contemporary genres, was on full display. This year, the event expanded its scope with several exciting additions that drew rave reviews from attendees. A special exhibition focusing on the 1960s transported guests back to an era of artistic revolution, while a spotlight on Miami’s cultural institutions celebrated the city’s vibrant art scene. A dedicated section highlighting Canadian artists added an international flair that resonated with visitors.

An International Gathering of Galleries

More than 70 galleries from across the globe participated, presenting works that ranged from contemporary masterpieces to innovative installations. Renowned names like Heitsch Gallery, Robert Fontaine Gallery, m+V Art Miami, Art Lexing, Unix Gallery, and ZK Gallery showcased an impressive array of talent. Visitors were treated to a visual feast of creativity from the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia, making the event a truly global affair.

Record-Breaking Attendance

The fair built on the success of its previous editions, drawing even larger crowds than last year’s 35,000 attendees. Over 7,500 VIP guests turned out for the exclusive opening night preview, kicking off the event in style. The timing couldn’t have been better, as Art Wynwood coincided with Miami’s President’s Day weekend and the prestigious Yacht & Brokerage Show, located just a few miles away. The confluence of these major events made for one of the busiest weekends Miami has seen this season.

A Celebration of Creativity

Art Wynwood’s reputation as a cultural phenomenon was further cemented this year. With its emphasis on street art, pop surrealism, and other underground movements, the fair showcased works that captivated both seasoned collectors and casual art lovers. Guests praised the diverse and thought-provoking program, which offered something for everyone.

A Weekend to Remember

Art Wynwood 2016 left attendees buzzing with excitement and anticipation for what the future holds. From its innovative exhibitions to the vibrant atmosphere, the fair once again proved why it’s considered a jewel of Miami’s winter art scene. As the pavilions emptied and the city returned to its usual rhythm, one thing was clear: Art Wynwood is more than an event; it’s a tradition that continues to elevate and inspire the art world year after year.
