RETNA is the pseudonym for graffiti artist Marquis Lewis (American, b. 1979) who combines ancient scripts, runes, and calligraphy into a unique visual language only decipherable to eyes trained to do so. This mysterious quality and looming scale are “sui generis”, (of its own kind), and unlike those who have come before or after.
