Monumental in both scale and visual impact, Wallpaper with Blue Floor Interior is among Lichtenstein’s most ambitious print projects. Extending more than 12½ feet across, the five-panel composition transforms an entire wall into one of the artist’s unmistakable Pop interiors.
Lichtenstein plays brilliantly with perspective, reflection and pattern, juxtaposing the swirling blue floor with Ben-Day dots, bold outlines and mirrored architectural space. The result occupies an intriguing territory between artwork and environment—the depicted interior effectively becoming part of the collector’s own.
This example is particularly desirable as it is described as mint and never framed.
