This multi-layered archival pigment print, measuring 112.2 cm x 95.3 cm unframed, presents a seamless gradient of radiant hues that transition effortlessly from warm oranges and pinks to cool blues and greens. The work evokes a meditative stillness, drawing the viewer into its ethereal, atmospheric composition. Part of a limited edition of 40, this piece is hand-signed and numbered (#29/40) by the artist at the bottom margin. Accompanied by impeccable provenance, sourced directly from the publisher, Gaussian stands as a testament to Saville’s mastery in creating art that bridges emotional resonance and visual sophistication.

Boo Saville’s artistic journey reflects a profound engagement with color and abstraction, aiming to evoke intense visual experiences. She describes her intent as creating “an experience where you are hit in the eyeballs with intensity,” emphasizing the immersive nature of her work. Collectors and investors may find Saville’s work appealing due to her distinctive approach to color and form, as well as her growing presence in the contemporary art scene.

I want to create an experience of looking where you are initially hit in the eyeballs with the intensity then as you linger it changes and deepens. Can something be calming and energising at the same time? I’m interested in what other people are bringing to this work. Perception changes depending on how you’ve slept, what you’ve eaten, your eyesight – all sorts. So, what I want to provoke just depends on what happens in the studio on that day. Someone once said to me about one of my colorfields was that the color was so intense that it felt desperate, which was astute as at the time of making it I was feeling desperate with grief.” ~Boo Saville to ARTSPACE.
